18 of the Society members came to Brean Country & Golf Club to support Murray on his day at his home club. Some of us did have some difficulty actual getting to the the promised land as we could see this magnificent building on the horizon but couldn't seem to find the right road to the Car Park. Gratefully, after some of us drove drove through the maintenance yard found the safe haven of the new "Clubhouse"

When we did enter, we were met with a warm welcome and great Bacon rolls and coffee. The format for the team game was a 3 man bowmaker, two scores to count and with the wind blowing very hard, it was going to be a very interesting test for everyone. However the ever reliable Graham Brunsdon (Captain) and aided with "I hardly play Paul Brown" and their side kick side Ade Meacham managed to score a magnificent 76 Points stealing the prizes from the team of Alan Bracey, Steve ( I hit them low) Richards and Barry Hathaway.
Modesty forbids me on stating how well the winner played to score 21 Points on the back 9 to take the Prize and Trophy but suffice to say, it was a better comeback then Spurs and Liverpool after my performance in Europe last week. Hopefully, I will remember to cut myself two shots. Sadly for Mr Hathaway, his only prize was to lose a shot !!!
The day ended with a great meal and prize giving. A big thank you to Murray for not only providing the first round of drinks for everyone but for his generous prizes of shirts for the winners.
For those who couldn't come this year, Brean Country and Golf Club provided us with a great day, from Andrew March arranging the golf to the great catering staff, who were on hand to provide great food and service. Hopefully next year, the weather might be kinder.
Our next meeting is Captains Day at The Manor House Golf Club at Castle Combe on Friday 21st June 2019. The numbers are limited so make sure you respond promptly to the email that will be sent out in the next ten days. Graham is already planning a great day for everyone so come along and support him and make this another great day for the South West Transport Golf Society.
