Another Season Washout

Stinchcombe Golf Club - April 3rd 2024

Without a ball being hit in angry or otherwise the Secretaries had to make the decision to call off the South West Transport Golf Society first meeting of the 2024 season.

With temporary greens already being on 4 holes after an afternoon of steady and at times heavy rain, it was likely that every green would be temporary and the tees moved even further forward to try and keep the course the open. The Professional of the club Mr Paul Burrall was honest and very helpful and agreed that the golf course may even be closed and couldn't guarantee our meeting. We are going to try and rearrange this meeting later in the year so we can all enjoy the hospitality of Stinchcombe golf Club.

I am sure you will all agree walking around a waterlogged course is not what any one of us would want to display our golfing talents.

For those who paid it would be preferred that the money paid be used for future meetings. If any one wants a refund, please contact me on 07836 631044 and I will arrange a refund to your account.

Fingers crossed for Wednesday 8th May 2024 when we will probably all be burnt due to the heatwave we will all be experiencing.
