A Dead Rubber
Well as far as anyone is aware. Oake Manor proved to be a unique day sadly for the wrong reason. The day was thrown in to chaos when the M5 Motorway was closed for most of the day and many of the members instead of driving down the fairway, they were sat in their cars on the M5.
Out of the 24 players that were due to tee off all but two managed to arrive at different stages of the day which resulted in some have already played before others had even hit a ball. Subsequently, it was decided to cancel the AGM and the results for the day as it would have meant everyone hanging on for a few hours. The decision to make this a " Dead Rubber" was taken by both the President and Secretary who luckily had arrived shortly after 10.00 am and 11.00am respectively.
Oake Manor Golf Course were outstanding in their co-operation to allow all member who arrived to play 18 holes of golf and provided two sitting for the meal.
Results for the Victor Ludorum and the Par 3 Competition are still the same as before Oake Manor and the winners have been decided based upon results of the meeting held at Cumberwell Park.
The next meeting will be held at Weston Super Mare on the 26th October 2018 and hopefully the news will be made by the golf and not the traffic .
