Great Course Great Weather & Great Golf
The second meeting of the year was held at the Manor House Golf Club Castle Coombe and what a gem it turned out to be. Greens were of the highest quality, true and quick and really allowed some of our golfers to excel with some fanastic scoring. The whole set up of the course was in truely magnifcent condition.
The 9 Hole Single Stableford was contested on the front nine and it proved far to easy for 3 of our members who all scored 22 points .Once again with back to back wins by "Kevin Koepka Atkins". Great perfomances by Paul Harrison & Andy Chapple could not deny this occassional golfer from taking the glory despite already being cut 2 Shots. The only hope we have now is he will be cut another 2 shots, so will be playing off 13!!!
The 2 man Better Ball Competition was again hotly contested with Graham "Oh Do I have to play off singles figures and Ian "I am a 19 Handicap Adams" scoring 44 points. The burnham pair of Richard Lane & Alan Cook "I did contribute at the crucial times on 3 occassions", Richard Lane putting like the ball was a magnet to the hole, were worthy runners up.
Graham Brunsdon played outstandly well and even managed an eagle on the Par 4 8th hole.
Congratulations to all todays winners, extremely well played and remember prizes mean Cut Shots.
Nearest to the pin on all Par 3's was a tight affair with Robert Ellis,Dave Buckland, Emrys Jones Jack Seymour & Paul Harrison. The closest to the Pin out all of these was Robert Ellis. Well Done.
The Par 3 Competition is beginning to take shape with the early leaders being Graham "Single Figure" Brunsdon & Dave Buckland who after 2 Qualifying rounds leads with a score of 27.
Castle Coombe was a great day and a big thank you for all who attended to make it that way.
