The New Season Is Fast Approaching

What has seemed to be a continual wet winter, with many courses closed more often than open during the winter, we are now only 9 weeks away from our first meeting of the new 2018 season at Mendip Spring Golf Club.

Bruce the newly appointed Captain of the South West Transport Golf Society is having his " Captains Day" so we need everyone to come along and support him and to make a great start to the new season.

Many of you have registered as member on this web site which is great and one member has even paid for this event! Well done Mr Tottle. It would be great to see everyone register as I then can send emails far easier to everyone concerning the meeting as well as keeping everyone informed of upcoming Events and News stories.

The format of the day will be 9 holes of individual stableford played on the back nine which proved very popular last year. although this will be changed throughout the season as well as a team game which will be dependant upon the numbers who attend.

The cost of the day is £40.00 as advertised and this will be the usual cost for all days with the exception of the meeting at The Manor House Castle Coombe where the cost will be £45.00 but will include shared buggies for everyone.

The dates for all the meeting for the 2018 Season are advertised on this site, so there is no excuse for anyone not to make a diary note and make themselves available.

Memberships/Subs are now payable and for those of your who have paid, thank you. As discussed at the last meeting, the kitty is not overflowing and the existing bank balance is now depleted as deposits had to paid to secure the dates. For those who haven't paid, using Pay Pal on this site is secure and safe and you don't even need an account to pay! For those who aren't comfortable paying this way, please drop me an email at alfie2424@live.co.uk and I will provide you with bank details .

Society shirts will be available for everyone who pays their subs before the end of February 2018. I shall be writing to everyone who has paid to get their correct sizes. If you are unsure what size you are, try one a Footjoy shirt at your Pro Shop or local stockist.

In the meanwhile, hope we all manage to play some golf and have some sunnier and dryer weather and I look forward to seeing you all at Mendip Spring Golf Club.
