Final Meeting Of 2017
The final meeting was held at Knowle Golf Club on Friday 27 October 2017 in what can only be described as "Glorious Sunshine"
The day started with the Annual General Meeting which was led by Stephen & Neil Seymour. The overall financial picture was presented by Stephen Seymour and it showed that in this season, we actually made a very small profit after the Knowle Meeting. However it was decided to raise the annual subs to £25.00 but this will include a "Footjoy" shirt with a South West Transport Logo for all members.
Courses for next season were offered to the members and it was agreed that the proposed schedule was very good and that Stephen Seymour should make the necessary arrangements for next year. All meeting held will be costed at £40.00 per day with the exception of The Manor House Golf Club which will be £45.00 but will include buggies for each pair.
It was agreed that we need to attract more members and that everyone should make an effort to bring a guest. An incentive scheme was put forward by Stephen Seymour to help encourage more members.
Any member who brings a guest will receive a £10.00 discount for that meeting.
If that guest joins the Society, the member will receive a dozen Pro V's balls.
Elections were held for Captain for the next two seasons and Bruce Wilkes was duly elected.Well done Bruce and hope you enjoy your stint as Captain.
Golf commenced in earnest on the first tee, where the format was the 9 Hole Stableford Handicap played over the Back Nine and a 3 Man Bowmaker with two scores to count. Despite the greens being rather slow, the scores were good, with the winners being Andy Chapple, Jordan Chapple and Barry Hathaway scoring 77 Points in the 3 Man Bowmaker.
The 9 Hole Stableford was won by Graham Brunsdon who scored an impressive 19 points. Jack Seymour was runner up on 17 points beating Jordan Chapple on count- back.
Prize Presentation after dinner was for the Winners of the 9 Hole Stableford event and a list of these can be found on the web site. Congratulations to all the Cup Winners.
